Rurbanism / Naotsugu Yoshida Exhibition
Utsuwa Shoken Kamakura
March 20 (Fri) – March 22 (Sun), 2026
Urban and Rural — city and countryside. There are landscapes that emerge when cultures and times from different places gently connect.
Rurbanism is a platform that crosses disciplines such as ceramics, furniture, and space, respecting the background and stories of each element, and proposing a quiet richness within everyday life.
From March 20, 2026, we will present “Rurbanism / Naotsugu Yoshida Exhibition”at Utsuwa Shoken in Kamakura.

Naotsugu Yoshida
This exhibition will feature a selection of vessels and flower vases by ceramic artist Naotsugu Yoshida. In addition, we will present and offer for sale planter covers specially created for Rurbanism.
The textures born from clay, glaze, and the firing process carry a quiet yet powerful presence, deepening over time through use.
These works reveal not only their individuality as objects, but also a richer expression when placed within a spatial context.

Furniture Curation
Alongside Yoshida’s ceramics, we will showcase and offer a curated selection of Nordic vintage furniture from the perspective of Rurbanism.
Works by Alvar Aalto and Hans J. Wegner are not merely products, but can be seen as “vessels of time,” shaped by years of use.
The texture of wood, the patina of aging, and traces of human touch bring a quiet depth that cannot be found in newly made objects.
In this exhibition, Yoshida’s ceramics and these vintage pieces are brought together to form a space where objects from different eras and places naturally coexist in harmony.

Lighting
As an integral element shaping the space, we will present lighting by Santa & Cole, a Barcelona-based brand founded on the philosophy of “editing design.”
Through light, their pieces create a soft contour within the space, gently connecting ceramics and furniture.
They serve as a quiet yet essential presence, weaving relationships between objects.

About Tatsuhiko Endo / Rurbanism
Rurbanism is a platform founded by Tatsuhiko Endo, aiming to create points of connection between urban and rural contexts, and between different cultures.
Through the curation of ceramics, vintage furniture, spatial design, and human relationships, it seeks to create not only products, but experiences.
This exhibition represents one expression of that vision—presenting ceramics and furniture within a shared narrative.
