小野 哲平 Teppei Ono
Born in Ehime in 1958. Currently based in Kami, Kochi, where he continues his ceramic practice.
After rigorous training in Tokoname, he established a solid foundation of technique, which, combined with the sensibility nurtured in the terraced rice fields of Kochi’s natural landscape, gives rise to vessels that are both powerful and embracing. Rooted in the rich experiences gained from his travels through India and other parts of Asia, his works carry a quiet spirituality beneath their rustic warmth. They captivate both viewers and users alike. Born from an uncompromising gaze and unwavering passion, his vessels transcend the realm of everyday utility, standing as significant expressions in contemporary ceramics with a profound and enduring presence.
