小野 象平 Shohei Ono

小野 象平 Shohei Ono

Born in Aichi in 1985. Currently based in Kami, Kochi, working as a ceramic artist.

Raised under the guidance of his father, ceramicist Teppei Ono, he has pursued his own path after becoming independent—digging clay from the mountains himself and preparing glazes from raw materials, engaging deeply with nature throughout his practice. His vessels, shaped with generous forms and imbued with a tangible weight when held, embody both rustic warmth and a quiet sense of tension. They transcend daily use, bringing a powerful presence to the spaces they inhabit. While they function beautifully as tableware, they also reveal new expressions as art pieces—whether holding flowers or standing as sculptural objects—captivating the hearts of those who encounter them.
