田村文宏 Fumihiro Tamura
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1978, Fumihiro Tamura established his kiln in Okazaki, Aichi, after working on pottery development projects in Honduras and Cambodia.
Working with a wood-fired kiln, Fumihiro Tamura creates functional ceramics for everyday life, allowing the character of the clay and the subtle variations of the firing process to shape each piece.
His work has a quiet, unassuming presence, yet carries both strength and delicacy. His experiences working with ceramics abroad, his interest in Southeast Asian pottery, and his appreciation of historical ceramics come together to give his work a distinctive quality that seems to transcend both time and place.
Through being held, used for food, and becoming part of everyday life, each piece gradually settles into its surroundings. As it accumulates time with its user, its beauty continues to deepen.
