An artist based in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture.

Drawing on the origins and historical contexts of materials themselves, the artist creates works that reconsider established values and ways of seeing by layering them with contemporary sensibilities and elements.

Making use of the inherent character and chance qualities of materials, the works extend beyond conventional categories such as sculpture and vessels, shifting in function and perception depending on their relationship with the place in which they are situated and the people who use them.

The artist explores new relationships and functions that emerge between people, objects, and space.
