八田 亨 Toru Hatta
Born in Ishikawa in 1977.
Currently based in Sakai and Tondabayashi, Osaka, where he continues his ceramic practice. Exploring a wide range of expressions that bring out the character of the clay, his work includes shirakake (white slip), kurokake (black slip), natural ash glazes, and Mishima inlay techniques. His wood-fired vases combine strength with intricate surface qualities, radiating a presence reminiscent of natural landscapes. When arranged with flowers, they gain further depth, tightening the atmosphere of a space while creating a gentle resonance alongside the blooms.
