Atsushi Ogata Black Ground Brushstroke Planter

Diameter (φ) 115mm × Height (h) 75mm Opening diameter 110mm

This is a planter created by contemporary ceramic artist Atsushi Ogata, featuring a black ground with brushstroke patterns.

Born in 1960 in Tokyo. Currently based in Uda City, Nara Prefecture, he continues to create using techniques such as "karatsu" and brushstrokes, while harnessing the strength of raw clay rich in iron content. The vessels fired in a wood kiln possess a certain presence within their tranquility, bringing depth and tension not only to the plants but to the space they occupy.

This piece is a planter with a black ground brushstroke pattern, created by swiftly applying white slip with a brush onto a base formed from black clay. The dynamic traces of the brush carve a strong rhythm into the surface of the vessel, showcasing a unique presence that has no identical expression.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece specially made for Rurbanism, and since Atsushi Ogata's planters rarely appear on the market, it can be considered a highly rare work.

The quiet vitality of the brushstroke vessels by Atsushi Ogata.

Enjoy it as a small art piece that fits in the palm of your hand, living alongside your plants.
