Atsushi Ogata Black Base Brushstroke Flower Pot

Diameter (φ) 110mm × Height (h) 75mm Opening Diameter 100mm

This is a flower pot made by contemporary ceramic artist Atsushi Ogata, featuring a black base with brushstroke patterns.

Born in Tokyo in 1960, he is currently based in Uda City, Nara Prefecture. He continues to create using techniques such as "karatsu" and brushstrokes, harnessing the strength of raw clay rich in iron. The pieces fired in a wood kiln possess a quiet yet strong presence, bringing depth and tension not only to the plants but also to the space they occupy.

This piece is a flower pot with a black base and brushstroke pattern, created by swiftly applying white slip with a brush onto a body shaped from black clay. The dynamic traces of the brush carve a strong rhythm into the surface of the pot, showcasing a unique presence that has no identical expressions.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece specially made for Rurbanism, and since Atsushi Ogata's flower pot works rarely circulate in the market, it can be considered a highly rare piece.

The quiet vitality of the brushstroke vessels by Atsushi Ogata.

Enjoy it as a small art piece that fits in the palm of your hand, living alongside your plants.
