Naotsugu Yoshida / White Porcelain & Iron Glaze / Plant Vessel B
Description
Dimensions: φ275mm × h174mm Opening diameter: 270mm
The white of porcelain, the black of iron glaze.
A translucent white and a deep, absorbing black.
This planter vessel by contemporary ceramic artist Naotsugu Yoshida embodies a practice of relentlessly stripping away all excess in pursuit of pure and beautiful form. From within its quiet, minimalist presence, subtle fluctuations and warmth gently emerge.
Precisely because of its stillness, the work speaks all the more profoundly, quietly remaining close to the viewer over time.
This piece is a planter cover by Yoshida Naotsugu.
Designed to accommodate approximately size 6–7 plastic nursery pots (around 180–210mm in diameter), the work was created as a cover vessel for indoor plants. It is a newly produced piece by Yoshida Naotsugu, specially made for Rurbanism.
Quiet yet undeniably present, it brings a sense of depth into a living space, existing almost as an art piece within everyday life.
