About SANTA & COLE

SANTA & COLE is a design editor founded in Barcelona, Spain, in 1985.

From the beginning, founders Nina Masó, Gabriel Ordeig Cole, and Javier Nieto Santa have defined themselves not as manufacturers, but as editors. Their role has been to discover, select, and bring thoughtful design into contemporary life. In many ways, SANTA & COLE operates less as a producer of objects and more as a curator of culture.

From reissuing iconic lighting and furniture designs from the 1950s to collaborating with contemporary designers, the company has built a collection that carefully preserves enduring design while continuously creating new relevance for modern living.

Elegant forms, functional integrity, and a quiet sense of timelessness define the work of SANTA & COLE.

SANTA&COLE / SYLVESTRINA

Sylvestrina is a table lamp designed in 1974 by Enric Sòria and Jordi Garcés.

While traveling through Port de la Selva, a small harbor town in Catalonia, Spain, the two designers encountered a fisherman. Tall and strong, shaped by the sea breeze and sunlight, he carried himself with a quiet dignity that left a deep impression on them.

His name was Sylvestre.

The lamp was named in his honor.

With its soft glow reminiscent of an oil lamp, Sylvestrina creates an intimate and warm atmosphere.

The contemporary Sylvestrina is cordless, allowing it to be carried freely and placed wherever light is needed. On a table, beside a bed, or on an outdoor terrace, it brings a gentle light to everyday moments and enriches the time and conversations shared around it.

Its modest and sincere presence seems to still carry something of Sylvestre, the fisherman who once inspired its creation.
