The "White Ash Glazed Flower Vase" by contemporary ceramic artist Yaku Murakami is a work that captivates with its unique form born from the artist's original ideas. The shape, with a small flower opening gently placed at the top of the circular vase, resonates with the rustic texture of the white ash glaze and the finely honed, precise lines, standing as an art piece enveloped in tranquility.

The tension of the form and the stillness lurking within the negative space — this piece vividly reflects Yaku Murakami's worldview.

At Rurbanism, we will continue to introduce a variety of works, including flower vases, art pieces, and plant pots by contemporary ceramic artist Yaku Murakami.

Yaku Murakami

Born in 1967 in Tokyo. Currently creating pottery in Nagano Prefecture.

The flower vases, meticulously shaped by hand, embody a simple and pure beauty, bringing a quiet presence to the space.

Each one has a distinct and orderly appearance, which reveals even richer expressions when flowers are arranged in them. While adding a dignified beauty to everyday spaces, these works exude a unique presence like an object.
